Hello my name is Kurt… and I am a geek.  I admit it.  I love technology.  I am fascinated by it.  I am especially fond of web design, graphic design and anything Mac.  I can’t help it.

I love to tinker around with software and all the cool programs I can find.  I am always downloading and trying out some new product.

I love my MacBook, and I take it almost everywhere I go.

I love Wordpress and the idea of blogs in general.  I am amazed that with a domain name, a web host, and a few lines of code I can make myself accessible to the world.  It is absolutely incredible the amount of reach and influence one person can potentially have thanks to the Internet.

I know that sometimes I may be persecuted for my affection for technology, but I stand here unashamed and undeterred.  I am here to say that I am proud of my geekery.  This is my blog and I am proud of it.  I hope you like it too.

Today I downloaded an iPhone App for updating Wordpress blogs. This is a test post using the application. Upon first glance the app seems okay. It would be nice to have more control of the photos section of the app.

If you have looked at my colophon, you may have noticed that I am using a personal modification of a theme called Tremor by Quake Media. I chose the tremor theme because I like the look and was pretty sure that I could customize it to fit my needs.

With in a day of taking the site live, I was contacted by Caleb White, from Quake Media, telling me he liked the modifications I had made an would like to feature my blog on their website.

If you have logged on to kurthurst.com before, you will definitely notice the new look of the site. I recently switched hosting companies for my other website kurtandlogan.com because of the technical limitations of my previous host. I decided to go with Bluehost as my new provider. With the hosting package I chose I was able to host this site for absolutely nothing. I don’t care where your from, free is a good price.

I decided to switch kurthurst.com over to the new host and use Wordpress as my CMS. I previously used a free blogger blog and had my domain name mapped to Google’s servers. I am very pleased with how the new set up is going to free me up to make the modifications and customizations that I was not able to previously make.

I have decided not to import my previous post into this new blog. If you would like to browse through the old stuff you may do so here. I have decided to start fresh and see what happens.
